It’s hard to believe that summer is almost over. My three boys headed back to school yesterday and it just felt like the past three months just flew by. I’m looking forward to a three day weekend and hope that if you’re traveling for your last summer adventure that you have a safe trip. September is the month that most of the local elevator industry’s association meetings start back up again. If you’re lucky enough to have one in your area I encourage you all to attend and support them as there’s always a lot of great information that’s shared. It’s also a great opportunity to find out what’s going on locally in your area. I’ll talk about the calendar of events across the US on the show today and share the articles I found online.

My family and I had a great time on vacation. I really did need it. In addition to the main elevatorradioshow.com website I’m also moving my audio files over to the Blubrry.com network which I’m extremely excited about. This change will allow this podcast to move into a new arena of distribution, on demand TV via the internet.  This will be accomplished though the Blubrry.com channel that they’ve created over on the Roku.com box. This cool little device is the means in which I see Cable TV heading.  I’ll share more with you on that down the road.

So for now, please sit back and be patient as I roll out our new website this weekend, August 7th & 8th. It’s going to be an entirely different look with a new logo. Let the update begin!

Wow, I never thought I’d see the day when there was a death relating to a residential elevator entrapment. A story on today’s show, which was covered all over the place, actually involved a man and a wife getting stuck in their home elevator and died due to heat exposure. If you install or maintain residential elevators this is a great opportunity to send a letter out to your customers informing them of the importance of residential elevator maintenance and making sure telephones work and are installed. This is very important in light of the recent article covered on today’s show!
