It’s Elevator Escalator Safety Week everyone! What are you doing to celebrate? Great to be back in the saddle again from last weeks ordeal with my car. The darn thing still isn’t quite right. I’ve got two weeks worth of articles to cover on the program to day and I promise to get through them as quickly as possible, plus I’ve got an interesting story I’d like to share.

Back from a great time in Mobile AL, where I attended the Annual General Meeting for the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation! I also got a chance to visit both the foundation and Elevator World which was really cool.  I’ll recap what we accomplished and personally would like to thank those who have contributed so much to the foundation and the new comers to the board. Some tough reality to face as the budget is approved for next year. Also on the program we’ll cover the calendar of events for our industry.

Had a great time at the convention last week and have to hand it to the team at the NAEC for putting on another great convention. I loved Cincinnati and it had so much to share; old buildings, architecture, a rolling landscape, friendly residents and inexpensive parking. But what makes any conference a success are the people who attend it. I can’t tell you how great it was to see all of you who stopped by our booth and those who I ran into on the convention floor, in the hotel lobby and during meetings. For those of you who couldn’t make the event you missed a good one. On the show today I’ll recap last weeks show to the best of my ability and we’ll get caught up on the news from last week. Plus we’ll be giving away a $100 Gift Card from Visa and goodies from the companies listed below.

Special thanks to the companies who have donated goodies to the prize pack giveaway!

Fujitec America, GAL, The National Association of Elevator Contractors, The National Association of Elevator Safety Authorities, The Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation, Peelle, C.J. Anderson, Truxes, EMS Group, Elevator Bob’s Elevator Pictures, Minnesota Elevator, ElevatorGear.com, ElevatorShack.com, ElevatorU.org, Elevator World Magazine, Elevator Cab Renovations, The Elevator Preservation Blog & ECS Corporation

Back from a great time at the Elevator U conference at Purdue University all I can say is those guys and gals know how to have a great time. It was great to see everyone at the event and I’d like to thank those who support EU as well as the EESF. The conference was filled with three days of education, a silent auction, vendor show and some great networking opportunities. I’ll give a better recap on the show today. Lots to talk about on the program everyone, I’ve got two weeks worth of news stories to get through and I’ll do my best to get through it as quickly as possible. Those in the Midwest area please sign up for the Chicago Cruise next week. It’s always a great time and fun for everyone.
