Awesome to see so many friends and colleagues and I have to admit there were many of you who really enjoyed yourselves. Hats off to the team at the NAEC for putting on another great convention. I’m certain that you’re all exhausted. Back at it again today, I've got a quick recap of my travels last week and am glad to be back, sleeping in my own bed after being away for a week. Click Here to download ERS-2014-08-06 #370 It was nice to get away with the family to the Northwood’s of Wisconsin, quite possibly one of my favorite places to spend time in the world. However it’s back to reality this week and it took about four days before feeling the stress of work and my immediate surroundings mainly traffic and cars, before I was back to feeling normal again. I have to admit that after talking with Tiffany about how good it felt to realize that it was possible to slow life down it was a feeling I want to remember soon. So here’s hoping you had the chance to recharge your batteries or have an opportunity to do so really soon.

Click Here to download ERS-2014-07-16 #369 Nice short show today. I believe there are quite a few media people on vacation which I’m good with. I keep saying the day there’s no shock or bad news regarding vertical transportation equipment is the day I look forward because it means we’re all doing our jobs and people are acting like idiots. Next week I should be up with my family in the Northwoods of Wisconsin enjoying a short vacation with them. I’m not sure what day I’m planning on leaving yet so there may or may not be a show. If news content is down and I leave on Wednesday I’ll most likely pass on it. We’ll see. Remember, summer is cruising along at speed of 600 mph and at an altitude of 30,000 feet so enjoy it before it’s gone.

Post: June 11th, 2014: ERS-2014-06-11 #367 Show Notes (no audio/video show today due to....) This weeks audio/video portion of the show was produced but due to some technical issues, I'm blaming Microsoft's update last night, did not save correctly. Instead of not having any content today I wanted to at least provide you with the article links, less my commentary. So if you're hunting for the audio or video file it isn't there. I hope to have it all corrected by next week.
It was great to see everyone that came out to support the Chicago Cruise benefiting the EESF last Wednesday. While the weather was a little chilly the warmth of those who attended was felt the entire night. Great boat, good food and exceptional company made the event a success.
Regarding show links this week the story/article/video that nearly crashed my computer was the one that most of you most likely already saw of the elevator that took off with the doors open in Chile. Amazing how much reposting this one got. As soon as I saw it, before reading the article, I knew it was an elevator located outside the United States and Canada.
On a personal note for those of you with kids finishing up the school year enjoy the following video. Also Happy Fathers day to those of you out there that have little ones. Enjoy it and hopefully you get to do something you enjoy on Sunday with your family.

Elevator Radio Show - Video/Audio Show #364 - Week 04/23/14
Click Here to download ERS-2014-04-23 #364 This week kicks of the IAEC meeting in Denver. All I can say is I wish I could be there with you all. Have a great conference. Two articles on the show today pretty much sum it all up. One of which involves a little boy getting his hand caught in an escalator and this is the very first time I’ve ever seen escalators and the fact that it did what it was supposed to do and stop mentioned. This is huge as in the past these accidents have been reported in a vague way that seldom leads to any type of information on how to prevent it. Please share these with friends, family and coworkers, especially those who have kids or grand-kids. Remember the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation and their mission.

I woke up to what appeared to be a winter blizzard and was shocked driving in at how heavy the snow is. I guess the last two days of above freezing temps were enough to warm the ground up, making the snow that fell, wet and slushy. After the show I get to go shovel a bit of it which I hope is the last of this season. Have you ever seen an elevator like the one in this post? The person who sent it to me simply stated, “Only In Iowa”. I can’t imagine the condition of the rest of the elevator when the inside looks like this.
