Macy's escalator accident

Elevator Radio Show - Video/Audio Show #339 - Week 07/17/2013

Click Here to download ERS-2013-07-17 #339 It sure does feel like summer here in Chicago with temps in the 90’s and the heat index hovering around 100. I guess it was just a matter of time, six months or so, before we would see temperatures resemble those closer to summer. So now as we shift our complaining from it being to cold to this hot humid heat I realize that most of theersfhyd have seen temperatures much higher than what we’re sitting in right now so excuse my rant. I did realize after assisting with some calls at work how heat can really effect elevator equipment. It might be a good idea to share some of your experiences with how heat can effect equipment so that when their elevator starts to have issues because of it you can provide some valuable input on the topic.

It’s hard to believe we’re a couple of days from being half way through July. Make sure you take time for your family and plan a vacation if you’re able to. Even weekend getaways count! Before you know it summer will be gone and we’ll all be asking “Where did it go?”  We’ve got a good show today without all the accidents which was a nice change of pace.  As always, thanks for listening to the show everyone and be safe out there.

Still recovering from a fun three day weekend, I hope everyone had a nice Fourth of July Holiday. Back to the real world as today’s show has accidents galore to report on. From a four year old that fell down an elevator shaft to a child who lost his finger in the famous wooden Macys escalator in NY.  I’m not sure if it was a full moon last week or what. Also on the program today I’ll cover the calendar of events as it’s the first show of the month and we’ll get into some interesting website links. Have a great week everyone….only three more days!
