No Show - 2/15/17

I'm currently attending the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation yearly Annual General Meeting in Mobile, AL. The talent on our board of directors always impresses me. I'll have a complete update on where the EESF has been and the plan for the foundation in the upcoming year on next weeks program. I'm excited and look forward to listening to ideas, comments on how to eliminate preventable accidents on elevators, escalators and moving walkways due to rider behavior.

EESF Launches Re-branding Campaign for Safe-T Rider Program

11-4-14-1A significant gift of $10,000 has been made by Ricia Hendrick in memory of her father, William C. Sturgeon, to support the re-branding campaign for the Safe-T Rider program. Listen to the interview with Nikole Layton and Tom Sybert. Last month, EESF announced that the cornerstone education program, Safe-T Rider, that teaches children to ride elevators, escalators and moving walks safely, would be re-branded and debuted in Fall 2015. The project will include the design of a new character or characters, enhancement of the print and Internet-accessible materials and the addition of educational apps. This is a very exciting change for the Foundation, and we are looking forward to seeing how the new program will develop!

The total cost of the new program design will be $150,000. Years ago, a fund was established for the Foundation by Mr. Sturgeon, a leading pioneer in our industry, specifically for the development of new programs and the modernization of existing ones. The only stipulation is that matching funds must be raised for any amount released. For this campaign, $75,000 has been released from the fund and EESF is working to raise the additional $75,000 to begin our project.

We need your help to make this happen. Every dollar gets us closer to the $75,000 goal! To make a donation or for more information contact Nikole Gore-Layton, nikole@eesf.org or 251-479-2199. DONATE NOW

THANK YOU TO OUR CAMPAIGN DONORS Ricia Hendrick, in memory of William C. Sturgeon C.J. Anderson & Company Elevator Association of Florida Will Layton, in honor of all the kids educated by the EESF

Elevator Radio Show - Video/Audio Show #350 - Week 11/20/2013

Click Here to download ERS-2013-11-20 #350 chiwkwthrSome wicked weather rolled through the area over the weekend, bad enough to postpone the Bears game on Sunday and pretty nasty tornado’s touched down across the Midwest, many towns in Illinois just getting hammered. Our thoughts are with those who lost almost everything and are rebuilding their lives. If you’d like to help the residents of those towns please consider making a donation to the American Red Cross as they are on site right now providing assistance. It's truly amazing that there weren't more fatalities and I'm glad that there weren't.

When is spring going to come? Next week I am not sure if I’ll be able to put together a show. My portable recording rig is out of commission so unless I’m able to get it working over the weekend I’ll have to figure on passing on next weeks show. I’ll be in Atlanta GA next week at the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation Annual General Meeting and am looking forward to it. Please take a moment to support the EESF by donating, volunteering and sharing the message of the foundation.

Not Enough News This Week For A Show - Instead Consider Become a Member of the ERRC

Sorry everyone but there simply wasn't enough articles to permit putting a show out this week. I could use the sleep and look forward to next weeks show. Instead of doing a show I wanted to take this opportunity to promote a cool bunch of elevator advocates who ride motorcycles and give back to the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation. I'm a member and urge you to consider joining. You don't need to have a motorcycle to join and you get some really cool embroidered patches as part of your membership kit. These not only look awesome on the back of a leather jacket, they also look great mounted in a picture frame. The perfect addition to any office or place of business!

Visit www.elevatorriders.com today and consider becoming a member and a fellow elevator advocate brother in arms.

I also got a chance to visit both the foundation and Elevator World which was really cool.  I’ll recap what we accomplished and personally would like to thank those who have contributed so much to the foundation and the new comers to the board. Some tough reality to face as the budget is approved for next year. Click Here to download ERS-2010-10-06 #222 Had a great time at the convention last week and have to hand it to the team at the NAEC for putting on another great convention. I loved Cincinnati and it had so much to share; old buildings, architecture, a rolling landscape, friendly residents and inexpensive parking. But what makes any conference a success are the people who attend it. I can’t tell you how great it was to see all of you who stopped by our booth and those who I ran into on the convention floor, in the hotel lobby and during meetings. For those of you who couldn’t make the event you missed a good one. On the show today I’ll recap last weeks show to the best of my ability and we’ll get caught up on the news from last week. Plus we’ll be giving away a $100 Gift Card from Visa and goodies from the companies listed below.

Special thanks to the companies who have donated goodies to the prize pack giveaway!
