Good news......bad news.

Well the good news is that I'm back to work, the bad news is that there's no show this week. I'm finding that work is simply all I can handle right now as I recover from my surgery last week. It's fun telling my kids I'm like Iron man now, my next surgery will be for the energy module that will install in the center of my chest. I think they half believe me.

I'm hoping to get a new show together next week as my new production computer is built and just needs to be all wired in with the audio, video cables. Have a great week everyone.

Yes, neither really has anything in common other than the incidents that have occurred riding escalators in stadiums recently.  So support the EESF to help them educate more kids who then in turn can educate their parents who may believe that escalators are playground equipment or devices that can lead to death or injury if not ridden properly. Perhaps there should be police ticketing those may have had too much to drink as it may fall under the clause, riding under the influence. For those of you in the Great Plains digging out from you recent snow storm, you guys need a drink! Hang in there, winter hasn’t even started yet. I guess it was just a matter of time, six months or so, before we would see temperatures resemble those closer to summer. So now as we shift our complaining from it being to cold to this hot humid heat I realize that most of the have seen temperatures much higher than what we’re sitting in right now so excuse my rant. I did realize after assisting with some calls at work how heat can really effect elevator equipment. It might be a good idea to share some of your experiences with how heat can effect equipment so that when their elevator starts to have issues because of it you can provide some valuable input on the topic.

As the nation tuned in to all the updates going on it is amazing and just shows how Bostonians showed the world that radicals who carry out violent and deadly acts like this can and will be caught, killed and brought to justice. Here’s an idea those of you out there making explosive devices in your basement with the intent on doing harm to our country and innocent citizens who have done nothing to you, get out. Yes, go to another country if you hate being here and want to do nothing but figure out how to do as much damage and destruction as possible. Go purchase a boat, shove off into the ocean and call that your new nation. Or simply move to another country. As the nation learned the news late Friday night that the second suspect was in custody a huge sense of relieve filled my heart and my sense of pride in those that tracked this guy down was immense. Way to go Bostonians, you proved your vigilance in tracking the those down responsible and brought them to justice. If the warm weather isn’t coming to me, I’m going to go find it. Next week there will be no show as my kids are on Spring Break. I’ll be joining them for a few days in Florida with grandma and grandpa. I can’t wait to get out of this cold weather. There was a scary video involving a dog, leash, elevator and closing doors. Being a dog person I had a terrible time watching it. Next week I am not sure if I’ll be able to put together a show. My portable recording rig is out of commission so unless I’m able to get it working over the weekend I’ll have to figure on passing on next weeks show. I’ll be in Atlanta GA next week at the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation Annual General Meeting and am looking forward to it. Freezing temps here in the Midwest as yesterday was zero degrees when I got out of bed. I guess winter was bound to get here sooner or later and tomorrow’s heat wave with a high of 25 is expected to bring the first measurable snow for the year.  Thanks to those of you who dropped me a line about the new intro for the show. After the entrapment in NY a couple of years ago, I figured it would be the last we’d hear of this kind of thing happening. Plus with our smart phones, the escalator roll back was caught on someone’s phone and while slow the situation is still scary.
